Sustainability Up Close is a project started by me, Mariama, to broaden the awareness about sustainable, yet affordable clothing collections and brands.
I want to show how many alternatives to fast fashion there already are and find ways how to build an eco friendlier lifestyle day by day. Even when you’re on a budget like me.
That said I am absolutely not perfect and have a lot (emphasize this!) to improve about my lifestyle and daily choices.
I don’t mean to judge and if I ever do please call me out on it in the comments!
I do believe the decisions following rules and regulations to save our planet have to be made by governments.
That still doesn’t mean we can lean back. Otherwise Sustainability Up Close, would not exist.
Because I also think that we as people can change and dictate our market by investing our money into products that are environmental friendlier.
And you don’t need a fortune to do so.
The project itself
The project itself is a cross medial campaign including an Instagram Account and this Blog.
I try out different affordable sustainable brands. Which to me means that there should be at least one product in each category that’s for sale under 50 €.
I’m also testing ‘sustainable’ collections of fast fashion brands.
On my Instagram Account I share photos of the products and a quick review.
Here on the Blog I go into depth about the experience I had ordering it online or buying it at the shop. I’ll review the quality of the product and some background about the actual sustainability of the brand.
